The GRAND TARGHEE Trip

The Baker's have set trips every year over specific holidays, Zions, Targhee, Jackson Hole, Snowbird, etc. Grand Targhee is by far my most favorite trip! There is nothing not to love. Beautiful champagne powder, great mountain to ski, great family and friends to be with, and yummy food. Doesn't that sound amazing?

We rode up with these hooligans.

We made our way up to the resort Friday night, we caught up with the gang. Gilberts and Zengers skiied Friday, they live the good life. The rest of us had to work and go to school. Saturday was a full day of skiing with AMAZING snow. This winter has been rough for us, the coverage and snow is pitiful in UT. However, Targhee is cold enough and gets enough snow that the conditions were superb.

Another benefit to Targhee is that the mountain is small enough that when you have a large crowd like ours, if you get split up, it is not hard to find each other. We all skiied together most of the day on Saturday. After skiing, we hit up the hot tub. Teri brought a massive beach ball for us to play with in the pool, it got out of hand real quick. I almost drowned from laughing so hard. Mike D. is a little insane. Ha ha! What a great group of people to spend the weekend with.
Sunday, we made our way to Driggs for church. Then, we relaxed and played games all day. Anything from hearts, nertz, groups & runs, catch phrase, and hand & foot. Game time brings out personalities that you have never seen before, I saw a whole new side of Devin. Apparently, he knows the whole Aladdin song, it was hilarious! Tessa turns red and shaky while playing nertz because she gets so worked-up. HA! Ellie is very competitive and I love it. Devin and I make a great team for hand & foot, we beat Chris and J. Teri always wins in groups & runs.
Monday was another awesome ski day. It was quite a bit colder on Monday, but it was still fun! Teri buys beads for each of us and we throw them on the bra/underwear tree every year. We, of course, did that!

Gotta love Targhee, I cannot wait to go back...next year.

  2. We love Grand Targhee! We have to keep it a tradition after we have kids and they start growing up, yes?
